The Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) is tracking a low pressure area outside the Philippine area of responsibility (PAR).
According to the state weather bureau, the LPA was spotted 1,530 kilometers east of Northern Luzon early Tuesday.
Weather specialist Ariel Rojas said the weather disturbance is not likely to intensify into a tropical cyclone in the next 24 hours, but they are not discounting the possibility.
If it enters PAR and becomes a tropical cyclone, it will be locally named “Neneng,” Pagasa said.
Meanwhile, the southwest monsoon or “habagat” will continue to bring rain over most parts of Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao, Pagasa said.
Metro Manila, Central Luzon, CALABARZON, Bicol Region, MIMAROPA, Western Visayas, the Zamboanga Peninsula, and ARMM will have cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms.
The rest of the country will have isolated rains and thunderstorms.
