About

Reedley International School was founded in 1999. The name was bestowed as a tribute to Reedley College, California, USA, a small community where its Founding Directress studied and excelled along with the help of nurturing teachers and mentors.

After his success in the Gold Rush in the 1800s, Thomas Law Reed donated the land to the community and the town became known for its excellent nurturing of fruit harvests. This value of nurturing was evident among teachers and administrators in Reedley College and is seen today in Reedley International School.

Starting life as a review center to give personalized teaching to students aiming to enter the country’s top universities, Reedley opened its doors by offering High School levels in 2000, with 80 students.

In 2001, Reedley offered the Lower and Middle School levels, and moved to a bigger facility in Pasig City with 250 students.

In 2006, Reedley moved to its current location in Libis, Quezon City, inspiring and nurturing over 500 students from 19 different nationalities.

In 2016, Reedley will be once again moving to a bigger and better site in Pasig City and to serve its growing student population.

5 Essentials of Reedley

ANTI BULLYING PROGRAM

Bullying is not supposed to be tolerated as part of school life. It can greatly contribute to child stress and can hinder them from learning and from having healthy family and peer relationships.

Reedley is a proud Anti-Bullying school. We do not tolerate all forms of bullying.

We equip our students with skills and techniques such as Conflict Resolution and the 7 Habits to help put a stop to bullying should they find themselves being the victim, the bystander, or the bully.

90% PASSING RATE TO TOP 5 LOCAL & FOREIGN COLLEGES

Reedley ensures that your child is prepared for college entrance tests.

Whether your child wants to become a distinguished professional or thriving entrepreneur, the key to securing his/her future starts with a strong academic foundation and getting accepted to a reputable university.

Every year, 90% of Reedley graduates pass the top 5 local universities in the Philippines such as University of the Philippines, Ateneo de Manila University, De La Salle University, University of Asia and the Pacific, and University of Santo Tomas. Also, they get accepted to foreign colleges in the USA, UK, Singapore, Canada, and other countries.

WORLD-CLASS ACADEMIC STANDARDS

Reedley ensures that its students become globally competent young learners and leaders.

We are 1 of only 6 accredited schools by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC) in the Philippines, and is also a Regular Member of the Council of International Schools (CIS). Our Humanities curriculum is based on the McRel academic program (USA), while our Science and Math programs are derived from Singapore’s national academic curriculum.

Our affiliations include East Asian Regional Council of Overseas Schools (EARCOS) Association of Supervision and Curriculum Development USA (ASCD), Singapore Teachers Union (STU), Kagan (USA), and The Principal’s Center – Harvard Graduate School of Education.

SMALL IS BETTER

Studies have shown that schools with small class sizes help their students learn better and succeed in school.

Reedley keeps its class sizes small so that our teachers can give each child the care and focus that he or she needs and deserves. We design and monitor customized and holistic action plans for each student in order to address his or her academic and developmental needs.

Reedley’s class sizes are as follows:

  • 12-16 students per class (Pre-K and Kindergarten)
  • 15-19 students per class (Lower school 1-3)
  • 22-25 students per class (Middle school 4-6)
  • 26-28 students per class (Junior High school 7-10)
  • 26-28 students per class (Senior High school 11-12)

LIVE SMART THROUGH LIFE SKILLS

Several studies have confirmed that success in today’s world is no longer attributed to IQ (Intelligence Quotient), but to EQ (Emotional Intelligence). In order to strengthen EQ, schools should focus on teaching students how to control their emotions, stress, and nurture healthy relationships, hand-in-hand with academics.

Reedley’s flagship subject, Life Skills, gives students a holistic education by helping them manage family and peer relationships, develop healthy work and study habits, and learn effective time management. We incorporate The 7 Habits of Highly Effective Teens and Happy Kids by Sean Covey in our Life Skills Curriculum.
